Android desktop mode will be launched soon
Tipster Mishal Rahman recently revealed about Android desktop mode in a livestream on microblogging site X. The new desktop mode can help users to benefit by connecting to the big screen through their phone. This can provide a desktop style interface when the phone is connected to the laptop like Pixel, USB Type-C.
Benefits of desktop mode
Regarding Android desktop mode, it is said that it offers multitasking features with the convenience of changing the size of Windows and moving them. Apart from this, it can also have many features like desktops such as app management system, facility to switch between mobile and desktop interfaces and other navigation elements etc.
It was earlier reported that this new desktop feature could come with Android 16. The latest Android 16 beta update has also included a new developer option named Anneable Desktop Experience Features. When commissioned, this feature displays Android taskbar, three-button navigation access and other options, when the beta-run pixel phone is connected to the laptop.
Will knock with Android 17
However, its launch may now be delayed. According to the tipster, Google needs more time to improve the user interface of this feature and it cannot come with Android 16. Instead, now this feature is expected to come up with Android 17 on the upcoming pixel phone. Desktop mode may include a taskbar with app drawers like phone, messages, camera, chrome as well as app drawers. Apart from this, this recent app can also display.
