Difficult Terreen and high-altitude conditions like Leh are usually long and challenging construction work. But of the press statement UnderUnder this project, special concrete mix and printing technology was used which is also designed to work in low temperatures and oxygen. The entire structure has been designed in such a way that it can stay firmly in conditions like weather hit, snow and earthquake.
The bunker takes care of the basic needs of soldiers, such as barricading, sitting inside and keeping weapons, and the necessary thermal insulation. Its texture is completely customizable, that is, size and structure can also be changed according to the need.
Regarding this project, the Indian Army and Researchers say that it can be a gamechanger in the country’s defense infrastructure. Not only will it decrease the time of construction, but also in inaccessible areas, posts and base will be prepared rapidly. Also, the cost will also be reduced to a great extent.
This is the first time India has successfully used on-site 3D printing technology at such a height. According to the army, this technology can be used in future to make more structures in the border area.
