Minister of State for Communications, Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani at India 6G conference told That funding of more than Rs 300 crore has been approved for more than 110 projects associated with it. “The 6G operating on terahertz frequency is up to one terabyte per second. It is about 100 times faster than 5G,” he said. Chandra Sekhar said that there is a large talent pool in the country and there is no reason that the country does not get a leading place in 6G. He said, “Communications will be secured by doing indigenous 6G technology development. This will also strengthen India’s position on technology at international level.”
Recently, a press release of India Brand Equity Foundation stated that 6G technology will form new industries and there will be a big change in the current industries. This is expected to contribute about one billion dollars by 2035 in the country’s economy.
India is also moving rapidly regarding satellite internet services. Recently, the government has received permission to provide satellite communication services to Billionaire Elon Musk’s Starlink. The Telecom Department (DOT) has issued a letter of introduction (LOI) to Starlink for this. Starlink is developed by Musk’s rocket company Spacex. It provides high-speed broadband internet service in many countries using satellite technology. Geostationary satellites are used for general internet services. In contrast, Starlinks uses the largest low meaning orbit consultation. Jio Satellite Communications and Eultsat Onweb have already received licenses for this service. These companies will be able to start this service after spectrum is allotch for this.
