The Noida Police has once again set an example of trust. Police of Central Surveillance Cell and Phase-2 police station of the city have sent more than 100 lost smartphones to their real owners under an operation. All these mobile devices had disappeared after falling in people’s autos, buses, metro or public places. Police tracked these phones through the IMEI number with the help of CEIR portal and then recovered back through real time monitoring, camera footage and mobile network tracing. This initiative of Noida Police is being appreciated, and the action was taken under the supervision of DCP Shakti Mohan Awasthi.

Toi ki Report According to, the Noida police were constantly getting complaints that people lose their smartphones while traveling in metro, roadways bus, cab or auto. Often these phones are not stolen but are left out due to the negligence or haste of the user. After this, when the complainants used to reach the police, their complaint was registered on the CEIR portal, which helps to block or trace the phone on the base of IMEI number.

Police say that most such devices were tracked from surveillance footage and network location. Then the calls were returned to them by identifying the real owners. The Noida Police has also received a reward of Rs 25,000 for this operation. Officials say that many times people believe that it is impossible to meet if the phone is lost, but now the tracking has become easy and effective through CEIR.
